As a professional bodyworker and athletic enthusiast, my goal is to help you optimize your wellness and vitality. Massage and bodywork are an essential aspect to a well-rounded healthcare regimen. Reducing stress, relieving sore muscles, and tuning you into your own body, regular massage is so much more than just pampering - it's a front line of defense in staying mentally and physically fit throughout life.
Countless studies have shown that stress - physical, mental, and emotional - are manifest physically by an increase hormones that cause inflammation, high blood pressure, and suppress 'natural killer' cells, weakening immune function. Thanks to the modern, busy lifestyle, you accumulate plenty of stress, leaving your body less capable of fighting disease and properly recovering from daily events. Thanks to your body's resilience and ability to cope with sore, strained, and/or outright damaged tissues, you just keep moving. Unfortunately, this system can cause dampening, or even disabling, of pain receptors at the site of injury, leading to compensation and imbalance.
Massage engages the parasympathetic nervous system (aka "rest and digest" mode) to allow deep relaxation, reduce stress-related hormones, and increase production of serotonin and dopamine - the "feel good" hormones. The manual manipulation of tissues provides a greater level of awareness to your body, uncovering those hidden injury sites and inducing your body's natural ability to correct imbalances. By increasing blood and lymph circulation, nutrients, oxygen and, white blood cells (immune function) are delivered through the body while removing metabolic waste. This leaves you refreshed, more flexible, and more resilient - more vital.
The simple act of touching brings awareness to the body, reduces stress, and activates natural healing mechanisms.Through bodywork, you will come to know your body, realize the state it is in, and attain balance and vitality.

I primarily use elements of Japanese Shiatsu, TuiNa (Chinese Medical Massage), and Thai Yoga massage. My clients stay fully clothed, so I recommend wearing something comfortable in which you can move freely (long exercise pants and a t-shirt are ideal).
I use my palms, forearms, fingers, sometimes even knees to compress and open muscle tissue- relieving tension and allowing fresh blood and nutrients to replenish and heal your body. Your joints will be mobilized through their passive Range of Motion (ROM) to increase joint comfort and flexibility, allowing you to move with pain-free fluidity.
My goal during a session is to facilitate your body's innate ability to heal and correct imbalance, increase everyday comfort, and leave you feeling vital again.
